A big weekend for young musicians

The Streeton Trio

Congratulations to the Streeton Trio, winners of the Sydney Eisteddfod’s Musica Viva Chamber Music Award, sponsored by the John Lamble foundation. Founded in 2008 by three of Australia’s leading young musicians, the Trio is named after Australian painter Sir Arthur Streeton. This win follows their recent appearance at the 6th Melbourne International Chamber Music competition.

We congratulate all the finalists in this competition and wish them good luck in their future endeavours.

It was also a big weekend for world music group My Sauce Good, appearing under the Musica Viva Rising Stars banner in the Utzon Music series. The sold-out show, which featured original songs, French chansons, American folk, Hebrew lullabies and a whole lot, more was a great success and a fantastic experience for these young, versatile musicians. The Rising Stars series is a partnership with the Sydney Opera House showcasing some of Australia’s most creative and accomplished young performers, celebrating their energy and imagination.
