Eggner Trio New Zealand tour feedback
Elizabeth Bouman in the Otago Daily Times wrote:
Eggner Trio’s performing style is musically and visually riveting, as entrenched in each work, it captures its audience with indestructible rapport, from positive dynamic onsets through to finales defined with meticulous precision and flamboyancy.
Margot Hannigan in the Nelson Mail wrote:
“Their first piece was Beethoven’s Piano Trio in B Flat Op 11 – the Gassenhauer. This was Beethoven as he should be played. Every nuance, every fortzando and diminuendo was observed meticulously. The timing was perfect. Cellist and violinist even matched their vibrato. Every dramatic chord was synchronised with effective drama. The theme and variations on the simple folksong in the final Allegretto was played with great exuberance… I found it exciting to hear familiar Beethoven played so well.
“Finally we were treated to Dvorak’s monumental Piano Trio in F Minor… I have never heard Dvorak’s music played with such driving energy and fullness of emotion.”
We’re very excited to be welcoming this exciting and talented ensemble back to Australia!
