Andreas Scholl live on Twitter today!

You could say that Musica Viva’s Sydney office is all a-twitter today. Not only is countertenor and superstar Andreas Scholl coming in to meet the staff, but we’re inviting everyone to send in questions for Andreas via Twitter. Send your questions to #askandreas @MusicaVivaAU today, Friday 4 March at 4.45pm AEDT.

As a general rule only certain lucky staff in Musica Viva’s Operations and Artistic teams have any close contact with our touring artists so Meet the Staff events are always immensely popular. A chance for all members of staff to meet the artists, ask a question and perhaps even share a cup of coffee or glass of wine (depending on the time of day and temperament of each musician!) We’re hugely excited to be able to extend this experience to a wider audience (minus the wine) over Twitter.

But don’t forget that throughout the year our audiences have the chance to meet our musicians at post-concert Q&As and CD signings. Andreas Scholl will participate in Q&As in Sydney (12 March), Perth, Melbourne (19 March) and Brisbane. Andreas will sign CDs in Melbourne (8 March), Canberra, Sydney (21 March) and Adelaide.

And let’s not forget the other fantastic musicians on tour with Andreas. Have a look at Daniel Yeadon talking about his baroque cello and why he’s using it on this tour.

Jealous! I’m afraid the only question I would be likely to ask is “WHY ARE YOU SO FABULOUS?” so I’ll leave the questions to the more articulate. 🙂
