Choir has the audience on the edge of their seats!
City Recital Hall Angel Place was full to the brim yesterday and the Choir of Trinity College did not disappoint. Their performance had the audience on the edge of their seats, with several even giving a standing ovation at the concert’s end. In the foyer at interval the crowd was buzzing about getting goose pimples or being moved close to tears. Many were impressed that the program was performed from memory, and the encore Joshua fought the battle of Jericho had everybody tapping their feet to finish.
The Choir itself was very excited about their first Sydney performance and huddled together after the concert while Stephen Layton congratulated them on a fine performance. Today the Choir heads to warmer climes – the choristers have a free afternoon in Brisbane while Stephen Layton will give a choral conducting workshop at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University. Tomorrow night they perform in Brisbane’s QPAC, where Stephen Layton will also take part in a Q&A with the audience following the concert.
