Talking to teaching – additional events during the Pavel Haas Quartet’s tour

As with most of our musicians, the Pavel Haas Quartet will do more than just perform concerts while on tour.

The Pavel Haas Quartet will participate in discussions with the audience after the concerts in Sydney, Melbourne and Newcastle. Ask them anything from their favourite composer to their favourite food!

They will also sign CDs after the concert in Adelaide on Thursday 27 July, and members of the Quartet will present a masterclass on Monday 9 August, 2pm, at the Australian National Academy of Music.

Perhaps the most exciting additional event on this tour, however, will be the Australian Music Day featuring the Quartet and Paul Stanhope. You may be aware that as well as our International Concerts Series, Musica Viva also has an extensive education program. The Australian Music Day will give Sydney based secondary music students the opportunity to interact with the composer and utilise their classroom-based knowledge to challenge the concepts used to create the compositions, as well as hear a world-class performance of one of Stanhope’s works. The Australian Music Day will take place at the Australian Institute of Music on Monday August 2 10.30am – 1pm. Click here for more information.
