Musica Viva farewells Paul Lewis

Paul Lewis promised to take us on a journey, and what a journey it’s been. From the depths of Mozart’s Adagio to the “dawn” of the Waldstein sonata, Paul Lewis has delighted and inspired us. After his final concert in Melbourne over the weekend you’d think Paul Lewis would be entitled to some time out with his wife and children, but no. Paul now moves on to the BBC Proms where he will perform all of Beethoven’s piano concertos. We wish Paul the best of luck with his next project and thank him for a wonderful tour of Australia.

For anyone wanting to relive part of Paul’s performance, you can listen to a short piece of Liszt that Paul played on Canberra radio last week by clicking here.

Wow, I bet that was a good concert! I’ve been listening to his recent recordings of the Concertos which are great. I’ve written a post on my blog, which also contains links to youtube footage of his performance of the 4th Concerto at the Proms.
