Paul Lewis in the Adelaide Review
“Paul Lewis is a largely self-taught musician, which is an extremely rare thing in these days of hot-housed, factory produced concert pianists who typically begin studying at the age of three or four. The story of how he came to the instrument in his teens is an amazing one, especially when one considers what he has achieved since. All four volumes of his recently completed Beethoven sonata cycle for Harmonia Mundi received Gramophone magazine’s Editor’s Choice awards, and the final volume won him Gramophone Record Of The Year in 2008.”
