The perils of traveling with instruments…

At Musica Viva we’ve heard a lot of stories about traveling with instruments, but this was a new one for many of us. Andrew Lawrence-King was detained at customs yesterday for failing to declare that he was bringing a wooden object into the country – his harp! After close inspection customs decided the object was safe to enter the country, for which we are very grateful.

The ensemble arrived yesterday in good spirits, enjoying the climate and looking forward to the tour. While most of the group spent the day resting, Ian and Michael headed straight to the beach. Today the group will rehearse in preparation for tomorrow night’s first concert at the Conservatorium Theatre, South Bank.
