Choir tour kicks off with fantastic Hobart performance
The Choir of Trinity College Cambridge and Stephen Layton conquered jetlag and dry acoustics to deliver an excellent performance in Hobart last night. The audience was large and responded very positively, impressed that the program is performed from memory.
Today Stephen Layton headed to the ABC Studios in Hobart for an interview with Christopher Lawrence before returning to the Theatre Royal for tonight’s repeat performance. The Choir itself is a really lovely mix of personalities all brought together because of their love of singing. They have a quiet few days coming up before the tour really intensifies and they are looking forward to all the concerts and Galas and travel and fun to be had!
One of the British works the Choir brings on this tour is William Walton’s The Twelve. Learn more with Musica Viva’s Concert Insights:

It was so wonderful to have the Choir here at the Theatre Royal – enjoy the rest of the tour!
Thanks Maria. The Choir certainly had great things to say about Hobart! We’re looking forward to the rest of the tour – it’s shaping up to be very intense but very rewarding.
